Head Shot

Here in my new occupation
as a social media
combat politics correspondent

A bystander to the daily carnage am I
from my position in the midst of it

Popped my head out of the bunker
so that I could better see
the hyper squabbling all around me

Carnage being a great spectator sport
when viewing the hyperbole
which I even get to occasionally
be a participant in

The flat screen keyboard
being mightier than the sword

Alas just my bad luck
a passing projectile bullet missile
from a hyper partisan
who actually
took this war literally
exercised his God given
2nd Amendment rights
and decapitated
my now exposed
text warrior voyeur head

Now I am part
of the Great American
homicide charts

All because I played along
and forgot to duck
