Hear My Call

When I thought I gave up on myself,

when it felt like I couldn't care.

I put my heart up on the dusty shelf, and most days, I'd just sit and stare.

Tossing and turning wide awake in my bed, 

Thinking how things got so wrong.

Failing to escape from troubled thoughts in my head and just stringing myself along.

Holy spirit, can you hear my call,

Holy spirit will light up my soul.

I never saw the crossroads coming. I thought it was just another day,

I was so tired of running my mind so fractured and frayed

Well, that moment I now forsake as it ceased with your reaching hand.

Letting go of what I've always had to take as you remind me of who I am.

Holy spirit, can you hear my call, 

​​​​​​Holy spirit, you light up my soul. 

Enriching that smile begun by His beautiful eyes,

I've been blessed by His grace and care, shoulders back, and head held high.

His opinions been so bold and fair,

My heart is filled with joy and surprise.

His help and compassion is beyond compare,

and His love has no compromise. 

Speaking words of truth, forever I will cherish what you do,

After all that I've gone through, forever I will follow you.

Jesus Christ, can you hear my call,
