Hear the Voice

Crawling hands and knees to a light unseen
So far from where I am
Chasing a voice of a far distant source
It sounds like my mother or is it my father
Blindly laying one hand in front of the other
Shuffling along with nowhere else to go
But straight, I must continue to go straight
The cold seeps into my bones
A chill cuts through my clothes
My fingers and nose grow numb
All feeling in my body dissipates
Only thoughts in my head remain
Will I ever reach the end?
Will I ever know who calls?
No, I never will
Because down I fall
Onto the floor of this dark cold tunnel
Closing my eyes to the oncoming light
Slowly I fall deep into a never ending sleep
In this frozen tunnel full of black torches
