Heart And Soul

One of the first songs that a youngster plays, when the piano they try to learn;
Is the two-part tune called “Heart and Soul”, it makes people’s hearts all yearn!
For each one is so compatible, every note pulls on our heartstrings;
The sounds are so perennial, such happiness they bring!

But as these youths grow older, life throws them adversity;
Adulthood brings such changes, no longer they’re carefree!
Then comes that day most dreaded, when a loved one has to part;
The music alters dramatically, when it comes to Soul and Heart!

For they both are totally out of sync, old harmony replaced by pain;
The joys from all those youthful days, are the tears that fall like rain!
No side-by-sides on the piano bench, no people full of glee;
Oh dear song, your tune has changed, such a sad dichotomy!

                        Heart and Soul Brings joy
                 But as years pass life brings pain
                          Then the tune changes
