Heart Cages

Heart Cages

My heart is guarded by a cage.
A cage that hangs inside me,
Made of bone that protects my heart from the cruelness of the people in this world.
But sometimes that cage opens to the wrong people and not the right,
So then I get hurt.
Over time I’ve learned,
That you should only open that cage to very few people
Because these days who can take getting hurt repeatedly.
When you let people get too close to your heart,
They take you for granted,
Then you’re the one with the heartache, not them.
We all have cages around our hearts,
But it’s your choice to choose if you open it or not.
Me, I choose to keep it closed.

it is very deep and great idea, so strong poem and yes ...this is true but maybe it is enough to open your heart for humans for a while, maybe it is the time to open it only for the almighty God.Β
