Freedom for a night

The glistering water running down my body as i stood in the shower 
the blood as it slid down me and slithered to the drain
the burning in my legs where i has just slashed a deep cut into them 
the burning in my face as i cried 
i let it all go 
i released everything i had been holding in 
the pain, the happiness, the sorrow, just everything 
I let go 
it was beautiful for just a moment 
then afterwards i got myself together and went to sleep 
i felt at peace 
i felt happiness 
and 
freedom from everything 
I had let go 
the pain was gone i was now at ease 
i blissfully slept 
thankful for one night of silence from the screams of painful reminders 
of myself not being good enough
not being the best 
not being what everyone craved of me 
thankfully i slept a night of peace
