Heart of a Mustang

Heart of a Mustang

She has the heart of a mustang

Wild and care free

A deadly storm is raging

For all the world to see

You can try to tame the fire

As you ride this rodeo game

But she has the heart of a mustang

And that mustang you can’t tame

*

She’s broken many cowboys’ hearts

Out on this open range

Some lookin’ for a challenge

But she ain’t lookin’ for a change

Young cowboy heed my warning

As you ride this rodeo game

That ain’t no ordinary cowgirl

And some hearts can’t be tamed.

'...some hearts can't be tamed'  loved how you held on to the 'Mustang' metaphor, right to the end, there is beauty in simplicity, like a sunset....a positive strong tone in this poem, unique and very strong, like it a lot, cheers poet
