Heart Of A Poet

This heart is easily held captive, all of the time.

It is hostage to the concerns of a poems rhyme !

In mind there's so much needing to be expressed,

Of our world, of love and all that's to be confessed.

There's passion creating lines sharing mans affinity.

There's hope they bring some semblance of clarity.

Life looms large with much discussed and debated,

With poetry focusing on the despised and celebrated.

Nature of it all, is imparting the soul for judgement. 

If a creative urge is fertile, greater the enlightenment.

It's fulfilling to bear what makes a human so unique !

It's travelling not knowing if you'll find what you seek !

This heart is given over to more than mere words say !

This heart is of a poet defined by verse to the dying day.
