Heart Of The City

This city is falling apart
all from this fire inside its heart,
the bricks are turning red
as parts of the Church fall dead,
the history is still there,
but the view is in despair,
the city will rebuild
for this is the culture of the people,
the place to come in times of need,
a place of beauty, a place of hope
This heart is breaking, in a heated rage,
the spire no longer in site,
the glass no longer stained,
giving the people of Paris
A heart filled with pain.
