HEART OVERLOAD

HEART OVERLOAD

This emptiness inside cannot be filledĀ
The absence of love is like a roadkillĀ
I've tried to substitute other activitiesĀ
In the place of intimacyĀ
But the void left in my heart has crippled meĀ

I longed to be loved, without the pain it bringsĀ
I've always thought thatĀ
Love was a body of compassionĀ
And a heart of understandingĀ

But I've only experienced the hypocrisy of love
A victim of manipulation and recipient of a false love

My heart has been broken time and time againĀ
But the need to be loved, keeps pulling me back in
Each time I start anew, my mind is convincedĀ
This time it will be betterĀ
Only to be trapped again, like a wild animalĀ
Caught in hidden fetters

But a life without love is like a barren landĀ
Parched and cracked, emptied of its promisesĀ
Like stagnant waters where everything dies
To live without love, is emotional suicide.

Wilford Barker.

Jim "The Lad" ....

cool write Wilford! I believe if we don't have the same ultimate long termĀ  goal like Heavenly Father, we simply drift apart. relationships are so hard! they take constant work, forgiveness, humility that fifty percent end. your write starts good conversation, and learning communication with the opposite sex is the ultimate challenge!..........................Jim
