Heartache

Heartache is a friend of mine. I found him on the road. He looked so sweet and innocent, and he was hungry and so cold.

So, I wrapped him in a blanket, and took him home with me. I gave him love and laughter... And food,  and warmth, and glee.

But then he turned against me. He hurt me everyday. He stole all of my faith. My love, he took away.

As he grew big, the anger built. The evil took his heart. How could something given so much love tear your world apart?

I asked for nothing, but honesty, and showed him a true friend. In return, he gave to me, a pain that will not end.

I tried to set him free. I even dropped him off one day. No matter where I take him, he will not stay away.

So now I live each day, in a living hell... With the pain from Heartache... And my heart in a jail cell.
