Hearts of Infants

Hearts of Infants

Not even time’s endless dwelling

Can silence the laughter of our ambitions

Nor could it ever cease

The charming sonata of the past

For we shall forever reminisce

About the children we had once been

And the roads we had traveled

And although we are much more aware

Of who we are, what we do

Would it not be better if

We were the simpleminded creatures

Oblivious to the dread of the world

That we once were?

To go back to the better days of fragility-

Would it not be a blessing?

The innocence of little feet

Springing over the stream of sweeter days

Our memories are fleeting, and yet-

In those cherished moments

Remains what was eternally seen

For they have sculpted who we are

And who we shall be

The curiosity of wide eyes

The want to consider every nook and cranny

Devising many a journeys

In the fields of possibility

-We are now wise beyond our years

And yet, we long for the purity

Of our days of infancy

Not even the time’s endless dwelling

Can silence the laughter of better days

Nor could it ever cease

The flow of memories we keep

And never will we forget

The adventures we collected,

And the children we had once been

… And the children we had once been
