Heatwave

Heatwave

Heatwave

The skys alight

The suns on fire.

I lie awake

in hot desire.

Lust is burning

like a funeral pyre.

I watch you sleep

the flames burn higher.

No need to pipe

a lovers tune.

No need to seek

a loving moon.

I need to have you

where you sleep

and burn inside

the relentless heat.

The fan spins

slowly above my head.

I watch you breathing

in the bed.

The thunder rolls

from far away.

Lightening forks

like light of day.

The rain it crashes

far and wide.

I feel my needs

explode inside.

I pull you to me

I break your sleep.

We burn together

as heaven weeps.
