Hedonists Headstone

Hedonists Headstone

Each velvet drip
Every warming sip
Time slips torturously by...

Incarcerated by habit
Crudely engraving granite
Chips and fragments fly...

Thick winter rain
Crippling abdominal pain
Patiently waiting to die...

The cool, smooth
headstone of the hedonist
Reflects eerily in moonlit sky...

Brilliant write Syd. Evokes the life and slow death of an alcoholic with poetic beauty:-
"Each velvet drip
Every warming sip
Time slips torturously by"
Deftly portrayed. Kudos. DD X

Hi Syd...The hedonist allows the brief gratification of sensual pleasures of alcohol to be his god and numb him from life...and thus slowly dies with a tortured mind...Such a sad scene you have portrayed,....but honest and poignant in description.  Great work. xo ;)
