Poem -

Her Number

does she continue to live in fear of others opinions
keep worrying whether they will accept her
or just think of him and say it's okay.
covered in scars from head to toe
mutilation clearly presents itself at first meet
no denying the years of scarring seen
can they look past the scars and see
see the girl deep inside crying
only wanting acceptance but getting banished.
the years of pain can be seen in her eyes
hope of sanity and love in her smile
dreams of a happy family in every touch.

her inner family gave up on her
they could not take her life style
yet they had imprisoned her
locked her away for many years.
she was trapped on a roller coaster of depression and anger
forever in loneliness and misery
all she dreamed of was being saved
being taken away from her cell
for the mutilation to finally stop
all the wounds to close and heal.
she found her jail break in him
daily she started smiling
isolation began to cease and she was becoming something better
she was turning into a princess...
then it was ripped away.

once again the mutilation began
the silent screams at night awakened
and the cell grew smaller than ever.
nightly she cried out for her knight to save her
for him to love her dear
never give up on the girl he met at seventeen.
time grew on and things got worse
she was becoming a walking corpse trapped in time
in misery and pain.
he tried to help her feel better
to keep her from joining the dead
to show them what they have done
let them see the pain that she was truly in
day-in and day-out she thought of suicide
yet for him...she lived on.

time and time again the girl was punished in that cell
time and time again she dreamed of being saved
of escaping prison and being free
the capability of getting to smile
breathing all the fresh air.
her knight begged for her to leave
to accept his help and escape
she was choked multiple times
yet she believed things would get better
that they would accept her is she went to school.
high hoping was that for they only took that too
they could not allow her to be happy
though only he could bring her happiness.

one sad night she picked up the phone
she did not know what to do
everything was becoming a blur and her world was spinning.
he told her to leave that night
come be with him and be free
she thought of doing it all night
then her dreams came true when her parents showed up.
they through the phone at her and told her "call him"...
thoughts racing through her mind she was hesitant
she was afraid of what was happening...
dialing his number she tried to stay far from them
it ringed
once
twice then he answered the call.
she almost started to cry as she asked "can you come get me?"
he showed up to rescue his princess from that place
it took everything for her not to smile once she saw him.
they rode away on dreams come true
love saved the girl from the prison
