Her own little bubble

She’s in her own little bubble
Let’s pray that bubble doesn’t burst
You see she likes it
that’s the trouble
her partner doesn’t
that’s the worst
Every night is the same
as she sits there all alone
She can not help it what a shame
sat fiddling with her phone
As she refills her empty glass
full of ruby red wine
her partner thinks silly lass
she’s in her bubble feeling fine
Why does he stay feeling sad
on the outside looking in
He sits alone driven mad
She doesn’t careÂ
It’s a sin
Will she notice he is gone
when he walks out the door
As she refills another drink
He can’t take much more
She never used to touch the stuff
When he met her years ago
Now she can’t get enough
with her eyes all aglow
Drink is all that she craves for
It’s the first thing on her mind
As she gets up every morning
Oh isn’t addiction unkind
As her partner packed his case
she was sat in her little bubble
He’s gone to find another face
now she can pour herself a double
Years later he is snuggled on the sofa with his wife
he thinks back to those memories
full of sadness & strife
The last he heard her bubble burst
She was found on her floor
They say the stench was unbelievable
As help entered her door
But help was too late
She had died all alone
No one else in the house
As she lay by her phone
“She died with the drink”
He heard them say
As he stood by her graveside
on that sad rainy day
