HEROES FOR LIFE

Another day has come and gone
But I'm still holding on
Sheltering at home alone
Once in a while peeking out my window
The streets are quite
Curfew is in place
Just the noise of ambulance sirens
Singing in the air
The hospital is only a block away
And as one who worked there
I am sure the doctors and nurses
Had another rough and difficult day
From those in the emergency room
To the many units on the floors
The housekeepers that sanitizes everything
And the security officers
That secures the doors
The dietary aide that prepares the food
The transport workers
That rushes down the corridors
The nurses assistant
Who has one of the hardest tasks
To the X-ray technician
Behind the protected glass
Thank you all
For your service and care
Without your kindness and love
There will be no healthcare.
Wilford Barker.

Love this, Wilford. Right now, it is these healthcare workers who are on the front line fighting the enemy who are our heroes. And this poem is sooo right for the moment x
