Unsung Heroes

O people of my country, call to mind the heroes
Who kissed the death defending our terrains
Quartered themselves far from their families
Guarded our frontiers with spirits of chauvinism
Left behind everything they love the most
Raced across the battlefield lion-hearted
In dire circumstances, under intense shelling
Amidst life and death, stood unafraid and unbowed
Off and on remained hungry, laboured under afflictions
Outmanoeuvred enemies with dauntless bravery
We enjoyed the festivals, they faced the bullets
Fought for our country with unswerving loyalty
Drenched in blood, In their last breath
At death's door, when the end came
Raised their slogans, Roared with pride
"We are dying now, be happy countrymen,
We are going on our journey."
And our valiant heroes went to sleep forever
Made the ultimate sacrifice, reached home in a box
How wonderful, How courageous, How great they are
Don't forget them, give them a thought
Tell their story, spread their glory
Remember those who did not return home
Never forget those heroes, Never forget their sacrifice
