HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT

Health care has been apart of my life 
For the last thirty years 
I choose that profession 
To lend a helping hand 
Also to demonstrate love and care 

At times our contribution 
Can be easily overlooked 
Housekeeping unilateral actions 
May not be found on the first page
Of any healthcare book 

In most healthcare institutions 
You can find the housekeeping office 
In the basement or on ground floor 
Boxes and chemicals properly stored 
And the office very small of course 

But take a look at the housekeepers as they go
Uniformed and neatly dressed 
Always with a smile as they welcome the sick and healthy 
Through their doors 

Pushing that bright yellow cart
With paper products, cleaning chemicals 
Dustpan, broom and mops in place
As we enter your room to clean, sanitize
And make sure, that all exhausted paper products, soap etc 
Are replaced 

We are the fearless fighters, and frontline defense 
For attacking any and all types of germs 
Contact, Droplets, and of course, Airborne 

So the next time you see a housekeeper 
Think about the things that they do
And feel feel to complement and encourage
These fearless fighters 
Who keeps the environment clean and safe 
For me and you.
