History repeats itself ❤️
I wasn’t born yesterday
My father used to say
As he told me little stories from his bygone day
I would look up and I’d smile, thinking Eeh bless him, he is getting old
All these memories from his childhood that my late Father told
Well many moons have passed
It’s my turn now as I say
“I wasn’t born yesterday”
As I try to give advice
They look at me and I think they know that I’m just being nice
History repeats itself
We mimic sayings from our folks
Haha I even find myself telling my old Father’s corny jokes
But that’s just the way it is
It’s simply the way it will alway’s be
We reminisce from our upbringing
We learn from our parent’s you see

Ohhh soooo true! I say to my kids what my mum said to me and I clearly remember er my grandmother saying, "Well my mother used to tell me..." I often wonder from how far back these little words of wisdom come to us. Fab poem Jill x
Haha me too luv all the time teehee 💗💗💗
Amen to that JILL!!...the unbelievably profound effect parents have on their children cannot be underestimated or set aside......and shedding light on it...as you have done so poetically here....... is a fine way to keep it from too much or too little impact upon one's realization of the fact!!......ALL STARS!!....VERY poetic and I LOVE that you're toying around with new formatting styles!!.....Bravo dear poet sister!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!......T xo : )
