Hold Back The Dawn--Based of the Great Poet W.H.Audens Funeral Blues--(Four Weddings And A funeral Poem)

Hold Back The Dawn
Let time stand still, Hold back the dawn
Let everyone weep in voices that mourn
Take all the people and empty the town
Replace all their smiles with a desolate frown
Tell all the world we’ve lost her she’s dead
Halt all the sweet music that played in my head
Beat the drums slowly forever instead
Take all the bright colors and bury them deep
Dress only in black as my love she does sleep
Never to go forward stuck in reverse
Lost her forever could it be worse
She was my song she was my night and day
She was my heart she was every word I say
Take away the roses take away spring
Take away laughter and the joy that it brings
Take away joy leave dark in its place
Let everyone have tears stream down their face
Snuff out the stars, end the moons sweet light
Never again see the sun, it would not be right
Pull out the plug and empty the sea
For nothing is left here that I want for me
