Home
(A poem inspired by songs:
Carolina by Parmalee
Home by Daughtry)
Home is where my heart is still beating
Even though I swore I was never going back
I hate the way it feels when I'm leaving
But I'm 200 miles away again.
So I'll be coming home
To the place where I belong
Where I'll be surrounded by friends and family
I'm running from
This temporary home
Even though it's shaped my life for the good for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old.
So I'm moving home.
Now it won't be right away
But I'll be coming back someday.
And I hope it's sooner
Than I really know.
And I can't take being apart
From the man who stole my heart.
I just have to get myself away from here.
So I'm going home
To the place where I belong.
It's where I've always wanted to raise a family.
And when I get home,
It'll be where I want to be.
But I don't regret this life I've chose for me.
I'm glad that home's not so far away.
