Home again

Home again

Of all the roads I've traveled, there's one thing that stays the same.  While the scenery is changing, the eggshells below my feet remain. I've learned how to tread with caution. I make treaties now with ease. Though the monsters that I make them with are difficult to please. Now each road has an exit. Most aren't hard to see. But if you're brave enough to exit, your travels could be eggshell free. I've tried a couple exits. It's harder than you know.  The monsters follow every time. Everywhere you go. Leaving breaks the treaty, the reprocussions  are insane. Reality is make believe and you can't trust your brain. Days and weeks, even months, I fought with all my might. While refusing to cause any pain. Hoping one day that they themselves would get to see the light. I'll admit that I was caught off guard.  Like a fool, I fell again. The monsters who had brought such pain now wish to be my friend. Hand in hand we had arrived. It was nice, too say the least. We stepped inside hearing eggshells crunch. And I was holding to the beast.
