HOME FROM WAR (FOUR YEARS AWAY)

HOME FROM WAR (FOUR YEARS AWAY)

l made it home from war after four years away
Oh how I had looked forward to this special day
As we marched together and stood in rank
I was heading home and had God to thank

Some of the things I witnessed and that I had seen
Men in barbed wire fighting for country and for Queen
However getting back to this day of joy
Mothers were pleased to see their soldier boy

When to my city I finally did arrive
I counted my blessings I was still alive
I made it home after four years away
Oh how I had looked forward to this special day
