Poem -

Home we jolly well go ?

Chiggety chuggin’
Finally on our way back
Twas nine minutes late
Was probably a fault on the track

Busy train full of people
Just like a can of sardines
Full to the gunnel
Same as tin of baked beans

Never mind we’ve got our seats
Coz we booked them in advance
Our bags are that big
Wont fit in luggage rack, not a chance

Can’t see a thing out the window
Its as black as coals
Just the reflections of tired passengers
Poor old souls

We have shopped till we’ve dropped
Mind you its been a grand day
York Christmas market was a joy
Very festive I have to say

We even ate in the famous β€˜Betttys’
Amazingly, there wasn’t any queues
Our afternoon tea was lovely
You should have seen the loos

This ditty writing is brilliant
It doesn’t half pass the time
As my brains bursting its cogs
Thinking sentences that rhyme

β€œMam we are back”
My daughters bellowed to me
Ah well I’m finishing this now
I’ve got to get off you see
