Hometown.

Hometown.

Smoke and dirt and dust and grime

my hometown.

Crimson skies and tear-stung eyes

my hometown.

Washing turning grey on lines

my hometown

Concrete, grit and small, shut minds

my hometown

Dirty puddles full of oil

my hometown

Sadness laced with pain and toil

my hometown

I rest my elbows on the sill

And count the moments ticking till

I  scream  goodbye loud and shrill

To my hometown.
