Hooker Story #1

Hooker Story #1

HOOKER STORY #1
(circa 1988 – Senior at Nyack College)

The Rockland Painting Crew gets a weekend job up in Albany NY.  The person who hired us rents out hotel rooms for us.  His warehouse needs to be painted.

Albany, the capital of New York, is a boring town with building in the center that looks like a concrete egg cut in half that serves as the Performing Arts Center.

The crew meets the client at a bar Friday evening. At the time,  I was a Teetotaler, a non-drinker.  As the evening progresses,  the client, a guy,  sits next to me and hits on me to sleep at his place.  I say “No,” trying to not get angry, try to take it as a compliment, but it weirds me out.

When I get to the room with my two other painting mates
a large woman enters the room and all the guys start hooting and hollering about getting some action from a
local bar hooker.  I grab the boss, and tell him, “Either she goes,  or you can drop me off at the train station.”  The Boss says,  “All right, all right guys,  I am taking her back to the bar.”

Some of the guys are disappointed, but I am relieved.  Preparing for ministry at Nyack College, I really don’t want to see a live sex show.  One of the guys says to young woman in her early 20’s as she is exiting the room,   “If you had stayed,  who would have picked you up?”

Without blinking an eye,  she says,  “My mother was going to pick me up at the hotel.”
