I do so wish
we legions of misfits
would dismiss this fixation
with trying to fit in

I do so wish we would cease
tearing each other down
by standing on the bone pile
to be better seen
by our false idols

Always desperately seeking validation
from this shallow judgmental
cookie cutter society

I do so wish
we misfits could one day see
that we are the flawed majority

Celebrate our variances
that make this diverse tapestry
forever interesting
