Poem -
HOPE ( MY THOUGHTS)
Hope such a small word that means
so much in the bigger picture
If we did`nt feel hope there would
be in life not much focus or structure
We hope for a world that has peace
with no aimless wars and death
We hope for a good future for the new
born babies who take their first breath.
In medicine we hope that scientists
find cures for debilitating and fatal ills
Cancer for instance a cruel disease
that still today has no curable pills
We all hope for the best in everything
in life that we set out to do
Hope just four little letters but it plays
a huge part in this life, for me and for you

hey, deborah, hope is indeed a powerful part of the human experience; we all can 'hope' for something better for ourselves or for the world around us, though 'hope' seems to manifest itself more (or perhaps seem to become more relevant) in hopeless or desperate situations, when we are contented the focus on hope seems to go fuzzy, not sure if it's a lack of ambition to hope for greater things, even when things are good, or is it just 'harder' to think of others who abide in hopeless situations, even though we are in good conditions? Empathy is not a natural condition for most, perhaps.... not unless something hits close to home do we 'normally' give it much thought (in my opinion) anyway, my friend this is a powerful word to focus on, and I really like what you did here; great food for thought write, terrific and thoughtful poem to post...be well, my friend

when i was thinking about hope yesterday and wrote down what i thought in my poem
I did`nt think as you have explained hope comes more to the fore when in hopeless
situations you are right though and when we are content hope does get a little fuzzy.
I agree. myself i tend to use the word hope so much, i.e "I hope things are ok"
"I hope all goes well" And that`s when i moved on to the bigger picture with world
peace and so forth That in fact we need hope in many situations
