Hopeful Romantic
This feels right
in every way.
I fall for youĀ

It's deeper, it's stronger
My heart growing fonder.
I can't be without you
It aches when I am.
This ought to be the storm before the calm.
Every part of me wants you
Pining, urges, cravings
This bold desire of mine.
Soon, my dear, our stars will align
We will be togetherĀ

Underneath the gentle simplicity of the writing and the quiet tone...underneath the subtle use of rhyme and varied line and stanza length...lurks the quickening heartbeat of obsession; it becomes more insistent in those closing stanzasĀ ... it becomes almost frenzied!
