Poem -

The hopelessness of hope

Darkness creeping in,
Hate on my lips,
A shadow within,
Burning deep beneath my ribs.
Heart throbbing,
Soul going numb,
Excruciating longing,
I must be dumb.

An endless affection,
Once bursting with pride,
Is now an infliction,
Left, waiting to die.
A confusion,
A conflict,
How can this be,
My body is tired of waiting for thee.Β

Memories linger,
Like poison in my veins,
The glue that once held me,
Taking the shape of chains,
Shattered & broken,
Yet still waiting here,
Too afraid to move on,
Waiting for the hope to disappear.
