Horror Of Nature

Horror Of Nature

I once saw the horrors of nature unfold

Please laugh not, for saddened am I

For I cringed after seeing a bird struggle

And die

He flapped his wings helplessly

Being overshadowed by a crow

And I thought nothing of it

"Birds aren't cannibals"

Though little did I know

As that not so little crow

Picked the bird up with it's beak

Their relationship was cold

He flew to the roof of the church

The very sanctuary of the lord

And tore feathers and flesh asunder

In a nightmarish scene of gore

And to think, seconds before I had a chance

To set the score, to save his life

To make things right

I've never hated myself more...
