Hotel Elevator

Hotel Elevator

A dark mantra reemerges on her bitter lips.

As the escalation surrenders to utter silence.

A tinge of vodka from her heavy breaths.

The watch on the nightstand keeps ticking.

It's around 1'oclock in the morning.

The vacant climax of the evening has deceased.

She then finds comfort on the left side of the bed.

Our pillows covered in sweat;

Sentiments after this would be superfluous

I take flight after that, with an apathetic farewell.

Rushing into the hallway with my jacket half-situated.

A maid helps me put it on.

However, soon after, I come to a halt.

Staring into the mirrored reflection of the closed elevator doors,

Until it was my turn to go on.

I swear I could've seen myself for a moment's glance.

It soon disappeared when the elevator door's opened.

I walk in.

Hiding my purpose from the suite's guest's.

A middle-aged bald man smirks, and a few women giggle.

However, as soon I see their ghostly faces surround me.

I dig my face in my arms.

Wishing that the cable would snap and plummet the elevator to the bottom floor.
