Lacklust

Lacklust

The smiles on their faces.

A shine in his dark pupils.

Passerby screams and nothing could be undone.

The blood that hit the pavement

A change in consciousness that distracts everyone for a few weeks.

Nothing forebodes as well
 as an unloved child
with nothing to lose and a sardonic glare of hatred reflected in the air.

Destitute and no future at all.

A cliche swept aside as just a detriment of misfortune and social demographics.

Perhaps, it was something more than what boiled beneath his soul.

Or maybe it was nothing at all.
