Hourglass

Hourglass

In a golden lush meadow
stands the tallest of oaks,
his branches are bare
leaves taken by ghosts.

Energy runs deep
through his roots to the core,
as an hour glass stands there
so silent and taut.

Sand almost emptied
gone from the top,
my feet leave the soil
as I feel my heart stop.

This jus' cant be,
what is this that I see
I'm not ready for this
shall I really be free.

Souls that have lost
come closer to view,
pulling me in there's nothing to do,
is this really it;
the end for me too.

Sun shining down
so warm on my face,
as the meadow turns green
I'm leaving this place,
time to move on now...
with my soul full of grace.

I love hourglass visuals, beautiful write miss jen,
perfect image to me.
"as an hour glass stands there
so silent and taut.

gone from the top,
my feet leave the soil
as I feel my heart stop.

Wow, thank you so much everyone :)
I keep pushing everyday to better myself
and with comments like this, it boosts my confidence
past its boundaries.

This piece is mostly about symbolism:
Do we all have our own hourglass, invisible to see?
until the end is upon us.

I'm so glad you've all enjoyed it.

much love to all xx
