House of Verse

Oh my dearest soul: the House of God; and gelid warmth, a

Sin removed; and royal scars, a haughty smile; and idol

Hills, a demon’s charm; and passion fair, a subtle wound; and

Fire held, the Lord’s design; and precious heart, a biblic

Seal; and thus the key, a vivid sun; and Scripture light, a biblic

Horse; and cry the breath, a solemn pledge; and cry the

War, an endless war; and treasures gold, the House of God;

And Kingdom strife, the hands of fate; and dearest soul, a

Red distress; and nearest life, an arrow Stone; and wail

The heart, a burning wind; and tell the soul, a churning grey;

And pegs and coals, a sacred sword; and Zion ghosts, a

Flaming soul; and captured peace, a morning prayer; and

Fathom God, a walking soul; and children weaned, awake

The thirst; and mighty shouts, the House of Verse.
