How I Scale the Great Divide

How I Scale the Great Divide

Some stall considering their worn out shoes,
Some must first debate spiritual truths,
Still others wait for signs and clues;
But with one bound, I reach you.

The secret of my portal is no earthly tool,
But divine inspired word, – foolproof.
Though earth be heaven’s footstool,
You call me now to come to you.

I need Christ to intercede,
And purge my heart, my earnest need;
On your living Word to feed
And in you, to believe.

I know you will come and take me there,
My transport needs no earthly fare.
And so I come, through faith filled prayer,
To your arms and loving care.

Here we’ll have the best of times,
Side by side, you and I,
You know my secret – it’s my joy and pride,
How I scale the great divide.
