They Don't Believe In Me

They Don't Believe In Me

God, they don’t believe in me.
Oh what’s that? They don’t believe in you, either?
I’ll tell you my story, then can you tell me yours?
Then maybe I won’t feel so alone.

Me:
They say I have my head in the clouds:
Especially my mother, she has her doubts.
I want to be a writer and focus on my blog,
But she says not to get a hobby confused with a job.
She pauses, then says that she’s afraid,
That I’ll come to my senses too late:
And with a hug and a single line,
She dismisses these dreams of mine.
And once again I struggle to find hope,
Realizing I’m completely alone.
Dad hasn’t really talked to me since the boy left
But there’s no point in asking him for help:
I know he wants me to stay an engineer;
I cannot make writing a full time career.
The boy gave up on me a long while back,
So he no longer cares if I succeed or fall flat.
When he left I was hurting so bad;
I struggled to push every memory back.
I carried on, focusing on my career.
I have a degree, but it won’t help here.
I quit my job because of the pain;
Knowing I was losing my health in vain.
There’s so many things I want to do in life
If money wasn’t an issue, I’d be a house wife
I’d be cooking and cleaning,
Playing, training, and yes designing.
I would start my own business, my own brand;
Raise the kids, oh it would be grand!
But not only the kids would grow:
I’d see my own business through, –
Whatever my hand finds to do;
I’d also be a writer and speak about You.
Right now, I’m not there yet.
But I’m not looking back; I have no regret.
They don’t believe in me,
But I will make them all see.
Maybe I’m on my own,
But I will keep writing, starting at home.

My little doggie is faithful though
He does not leave my side
You gave him as a gift to me;
That answered prayer still wets my eyes.
What’s your story God?

They say I don’t exist and that they’ve figured it out;
They believe in science but me they doubt.
They don’t get that I put the science in place
I designed creation and put my image in human race.
Some only want a god they can control or see;
They forget I created time, space and matter – but I’m not 3D.
Others pretend that I don’t exist,
Unaware that I have full access
To their thoughts and their lives;
Nothing comes to me a surprise.
Others claim innocence or that their sins are few,
But I know exactly what they do:
They ignore their conscience and suppress the truth.
But when they face the storm, they blame me first,
And when they are in pain, they are not afraid to curse.
But they never apologize for the pain they cause me;
Every crime they commit wrongs me.
Some will offer up a prayer when trouble comes their way,
Hurricanes, fires, and floods suddenly help them sing Amazing Grace.
Some check in on holidays, while daily their Bibles they hide;
They think that doing a little, will keep me satisfied.
Some claim there’s no point in checking if I’m here;
We’re in different worlds and they’re busy with earthly affairs.
Still, there are others, who don’t know right hand from the left;
I’m teaching them slowly, but them, I do not forget.
Some of my own didn’t believe I could raise Lazarus from the dead;
Thinking they believed, – waiting for last day resurrection instead.
But if they just believed, they would be sure to see:
That nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible for me.
I wanted them to be good, and I wanted their love,
I gave them free will instead of controlling from above.
I’ve provided a way out from sin, if they choose,
But closing their hearts, my Son they often abuse.
I rarely find someone who will truly believe,
But I will reward those who come to see.

I am a Rock, a Mighty Fortress, and Saviour:
Providing every need and showing great favour.
I see you are speaking to me now,
So I will let you in, and calm your doubts.

Me:
God, can we be a team?
What do you think of me?
I will love you and serve you with my feeble strength;
I will believe in you and trust you at any length.
I’ve loved you for a while now,
But you’re too great for me, so I was planning to let go now,
But maybe if they don’t believe in you, can I have a chance?
I have faith in your omnipotent hand;
I believe in you.
