Hubris

What we
see.
What we
don’t see.
Worldview.
Just
worldview.
Earth
civilizations
spun up
from dust.
Earthly
knowledge,
nothing more,
all from
dust.
Hubris.
Earthly hubris,
unfounded.
All thoughts,
earthly thoughts.
Religious,
political,
philosophical,
societal.
Earthly
creations,
earthly
inventions.
Creation
as a whole
oblivious,
knows
nothing of
such things.
Could care
less.
In the
end, when
it all
blinks out.
Blinks out
of existence,
all will
be lost.
All, once
again will
be dust.
Dust
as if things
never
existed.
The cosmos
won’t bat
an eye.
The stars
will shine.
The planets
will spin,
as they
did before.
Before
earth spun
into existence.
Perspective.
Hubris
unfounded.

wonderful write. Great style and form!
Thank you PD.
I like the concept of the arrogance of man, but I don't believe that religion was created, but that there IS a creator! I don't believe the universe exploded from a bunch of letters and formed a dictionary. Your poetry is creative, and I enjoyed, just my personal view......................................................Jim
Hi Jim,
I believe in a creator just not sure humanity has the intellectual chops to figure it all out. Many religions on this rock. Seems like an attempt to find answers like science but using a different tack.
JP
John I exactly agree! men have tried to interpret the Bible and it ends up being just the philosophies of men, mixed with scripture. The Bible was written by men with the gift of the Holy Ghost, you must have that ordinance to interpret! You can pray for the spirit to read it , but you must have the ordinance to completely understand scripture as it was translated correctly. That ordinance must be bestowed by those with the authority, and that authority has been restored in these latter days. I won't say to which church as you wouldn't take my word for it anyway. However I can send you something free; to investigate, pray about and find out for yourself. just message me if interested...Jim
Hi Jim,
The bible was put together decades after the death of Jesus.
A group of “learned men” gathering up “gospels” written by many authors over time. This group of men then chose which to include to become “cannon.” Seem narrative driven to me. Those who controlled religion had awesome power over the masses. A handful of men instructing ultimately billions what to believe. Personally never really considered it inspired by the Devine but more an exercise in power and control. The few telling the many what to believe. Humanity has been spinning up narratives from the very beginning. Today using technology current power brokers are trying to control the narrative influencing the minds of the masses for power and control. I see no difference. Shape the narrative control and power will surly follow. As I said I believe in a creator. Just not in the good graces of man.
JP
Totally agree men spinning up narratives today and in the past, but King James and also the Nicene creed picked and chose what would be contained in the Bible we have today, however they picked from the "original gospels" written at and after the time of the Savior by men with the ordinance I afore mentioned until it was lost because of the martyrdom of the apostles which brought about a "falling away" first into the dark ages. ........Jim
Jim,
“men with the ordinance” I’m not sure such men exist. I learned long ago that beliefs are just that and who am I to try to alter other men’s beliefs.
JP
Ah! and then we are left with investigation or apathy! all the best!.........Jim
Or life.. Pray every night to a creator i’ll never understand have all my life I’m 68. Never understood why I needed a go between (religion). I try to follow the simplest of concepts the “Golden rule” it seems to make sense to me....
One reason I commented on your poem is are you not trying to alter men's belief's with your poem? Love that you pray! I learned late in life that if we pray asking when ready to act is critical, I am always open to new learning. all the best.................Jim PS the "dead sea scrolls " are just one proof the"gospels" weren't altered but a little, thus needing the "ordinance".
“alter men's belief's with your poem”
I don’t see it that way. We all can look
at creation and come away with different takes.
Simply a poem....
Agreed with the poets on here. So very cool to have a theme like this. Gets me hooked everytime. I also enjoy your perspective on the insight you give. Kudos, peace and smiles. Kind regards, TFOTS
Thank you Fish...
