Human disg"RACE"

Dwarfed, witnessed by 1000 year old trees,

Rivers flowing by into the vast seas,

Descriptive rocks and stone impressed,

By natures natural elements, dressed.

Sedentary and thoughtful about our earth,

The human “RACE” and our real worth,

Sun’s rays gleaming through many a leaf,

Welcoming smells of pine needles beneath,

Wild mushrooms about showing their head,

Waiting, willing to be picked for someone’s spread,

Birds above nonchalantly going about business,

Whistling and singing without ‘our’ daily stress,

Wannabe hikers crashing through bushes as if blind,

Cracking branches, damaged shrubs from behind,

Sounds of distant human traffic interfering,

Passenger jets above through the skies tearing,

Plumes of pollution evident in the crisp air,

A bambi deer darting past me from the scare,

A slight breeze wafting of a human fire started,

Using wood purposely broken from trees carted,

Music pumped from ‘stolen wood’ amplifiers,

Birds fluttering away from the noise and fires,

Walking away in disappointment and disgust,

Careful not to trample on life below into dust,

Who will ensure this planet will eventually be safe,

Who will care about our children’s future now unsafe?

Why is nature so loving, caring and giving,

We are so damaging, uncaring and taking?

With uncontrollable tears streaming down my face,

I complete my thoughts of the human disg”RACE”.
