Poem -

Humans and their Shiny Things

As of 2020, there are about 600,000 - 1 million homeless people on the streets of America, with millions closer behind than ever.
Sisters, brothers,
mothers, fathers,
families, friends;
people who are still people.

As of 2020, there are 614 BILLIONAIRES in America.
People with more cars than you can count on one hand,
and if they wanted to make this world a better place, they could.

The sad reality is,
while millions struggle
grappling the poverty line like Cirque Du Soleil performers,
the world will never be a better place,
so long as money weighs more than any human life.

Having less money does not mean you are any less human.
