Poem -

Hurricane

In the centre of your hurricane
I find my peace within your storm
Time stood still as if we were untouchable
But as your hurricane drifts away
I am left with only carnage and dismay
No one could ever understand
That whilst being so wildly vulnerable
within your arms
Was the last time that I ever felt safe
You set fire to my soul, frightening me
So, I let you drift away
Watching with tears creating a void
I hid within the cracks of the wreckage
The memory of our collision
Is as vibrant as if it happened today
I saw the light within our disaster
I felt the fire between our connection
Now as the embers are burning
and the flames are dimming
I am left with only the memory of your touch
And the wreckage of our disaster
