I Always Care

It almost happened,

I almost lost him.

He tried to end his life,

Thank God he's still alive.

I fell asleep crying,

He fell asleep after he took those pills,

From those miles away,

All I could do was wait.

I could barely pull myself together,

Enough to go to school.

Having to keep the tears away,

When all I wanted to do was scream.

But he's still here,

He's still mine,

And I thank God for that,

For a chance to prove that he should be here.
