I am A Tree

I am A Tree

I have been lonely.
I am a tree, bending beneath the winds arms.
A weeping willow.
A tall sad pine.
A loping cedar.
And the worst is, the birds won't even nest in me anymore.
Maybe my guilt of nothingness is taking over.
Or maybe the seeds didn't get enough water to grow.
Could it be, that this was my last season to bloom?
No.
But I think tomorrow it will rain.
I will be, soon, green again.
My dead pound of leaves will fall away.
And with them leaving, the birds will be coming.
I will be sprouting my way back to life.
I will be opening my branches and won't hunch at the sky.
My roots grow deep and I am not one to sway in the breeze.
I am a tree.
