I AM BLACK

Â
I am the night despised by many
Because their stare cannot pierceÂ
My God given blackness and awesome wisdomÂ
That silently overflows on the backsideÂ
Of the sunÂ
I am His creationÂ
Separated from the day
Darker in tone but never aloneÂ
I am the canvas that reflectsÂ
His glorious wisdom and awesome power in the nights sky
I am black
Where are the stars in the day sky
Can you see them in their wonderful clusters
Sparkling in heavens domainÂ
But like their multitude unexploredÂ
You resent my name
For I am black
I lend to the moonlightÂ
Allowing its gaze to mesmerize your eyesÂ
Causing you to wonder about the great beyondÂ
I am black but not weaker than the day
It is I that you lay your tiredness on
After the day is goneÂ
Yes I am black
Created with a God given purposeÂ
Not a tyrant or a curseÂ
But because of your ignoranceÂ
Daily I must endure your hostile intentionsÂ
And my blackness will forever be exposedÂ
To the anger of the sun's raysÂ
And at times even worse
For I am black.

Hello Wilford...
White people get skin cancer trying to get dark...
Isn't that a hoot?
They'll die in a tanning bed my friend!
They'll get a sunburned *** so they won't have lines...
Go figure!
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...

People are people.. None of us asked to be here.. The sooner we learn to accommodate and appreciate each other the the better our lives and planet will be.
Hi Wilford,
Human skin is 7 hundredth of an inch think. Black is an evolutionary developmental to deal with a sun drenched environment, the added pigment shielded from the harshness of that environment. Only the ignorant can’t see past this.
“But because of your ignorance” this sums up the human condition.Â
Great write.Â
