I AM IN A HASTE

I am in a haste
My feet barely touch the ground
And I have a long way to go

I cannot stop
The faster I go
The closer I am to the place beyond

To get to that place
I speedily go
Flying almost to where ever I flow

I rush as I am often late
I leave only stares in my fleeting wake
They always ask me
Why the haste?

I hop and I skip
And say toodle pip
No time even for a friendly chat
Onward I go and that is that

I chase dreams that are far away
I race to destinies not yet made
I dash to places where I will never stay

Merrily and hastily I zoom
I am always on an errand
So off to the horizon fly

Time will not stop for me
The clock never favours
It just pities me
I need a jet pack to propel me

My feet often fail
I chide them strongly
But to no avail
I feel as slow as a snail

Speed and haste
As I Chase after fate
I cannot stop
For the wind must
Always be blowing on my face

Onwards
Forwards
Never going back
Great speed is all I lack
