I am the Seeker

The adhesion between
Exhausted spirit and tissues grows brittle
Like the wood-glued school projects of my distant childhood
Weary bond that once held with resolve
The furnace inside me yearns to lift me upward
As feathers above great fires
To touch and brush the cheeks of constellations
Bid farewell to every shackle woven from daily trifle and requirement
I seek the higher
I crave the truth and the love of God
Veiled as I am behind the mountains of earthbound lights
That blind and seduce the minds of each
I have shared this with you in many ways
And you are distracted and absent in
Your immersion of your new-found purpose
Nor would I assuage, suppress this spark that animates you so
Though I long for your proximity in heart and mind
This wishful void has made a carcass of my days
And I rekindle my humility before the Host
Spanning eternities, end to endless end.

Jaime, well done man, not a fan of the music, enjoyed the poem quite a lot though, it is really good, cheers
Thank you all so much for the kind comments and support, guys 'n girls. I realize that my contribution to this site tends to lean toward the obscure and controversial, perhaps its just part of who I am. I understand that the music and writing is not always comfortable for most of the individuals on this site, and I mean no offense by any of it, I guess I'm just weird that way. What can I say, it ain't easy being a metalhead either, eh? Haha...by the way, Chris, the song was selected more for lyrical content than anything else:
"its enveloped my senses
my voice cant explain (Let me go)
the earth-rise at midnight
that paints the terrain
with colors and shapes
and vibrations that shake
my entire awareness
alive and awake
we've been here before (as i recall)
and we've traveled the stars (your famous last words)
but now we're caught up in (we never saw)
the most galactic of wars (what was before our eyes)
it's time to remember
its time that we feel
the light we created
to nurture and heal"
This is all just works so well, I love it :)
Thank you so much, Katie. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm also glad to know that the construction of it has proven functional. :) Deeply appreciate the positivity and support.
Seeking God, finding purpose, humility, battling the daily grind and keeping connection with the Higher Power.....all great concepts. Well written. Thanks for sharing. JCG
I forgot to mention, "The Seeker" is my favorite Rock Band song by the Who.
