I Cried Last Night

She placed her heart in a flask
And dropped in on my doorstep
I didn't know
How could I
We were worlds apart in Spanish
Dance, and merriment
And all the while I was just a misbegotten
Entertainment, an oaf to amuse her
And so last night I cried.......

I'd never imagined that such an angelic heart
Could be so ruined and icy
or even laugh at souls
In disarray and heavy need
While all the while conniving in heinous greed
And breaking the spirit of everything she lay hands upon
And so last night I cried
My God, I wept.....

I noticed that it was not her evil soul
Even a plotted course
But a hole in her soul
That pushed her into the dirt of demons
And liars that break the world each day
Leaving her to prepare for them
A smorgasbord of empty souls
That have nothing else to do but play
Manipulate, offend, and made me cry
Last night....

The strange thing is my friend
it wasn't the anger
Or sleight
It was just the simple fact
That I could cry
At all......
