i dont need to look to see

I don’t need to look to see
I know already what I’ll find
The way you always look at me
If you could see you would know my mind.

I see the disdain dripping from your face.
I shouldn’t have to be ashamed
My life is set at my own pace
I won’t be blamed
But I don’t need to look to see.

I see the way you look at me
When I’m out alone with my child
Judging and that’s how you will always be
No ring on my finger, you think that’s wild
I don’t need to look to see.

If you knew my story then you would know
That I am not alone by choice
I got left all alone, I couldn’t say no
I didn’t have a voice.
Then you wouldn’t need to look to see.

ash,

Good write, a short poem on mother-hood and love, my applause

I see the way you look at me
When I’m out alone with my child
Judging and that’s how you will always be
No ring on my finger, you think that’s wild
I don’t need to look to see.

Regards & Love

Hi Ash! Welcome to Cosmo! This is a very relatable write and as I read this I felt the frustration through your words of constantly being judged by people who don't even know you or your story. Amazing write! 5*s
