I Don't Pray Out Loud

I don't pray out loud

But not because I can't

When you pray out loud

There's pressure to be perfect

In every word and thought

A nonexistent pressure

When you're only heard by God

When you pray out loud

It gives one an outlet for boasting

About your own skill and fortune

About how good your own life is

Instead of focusing on the lives of others

When you pray out loud

You're seen in a different light

From what you truly really are

And people judge your every move
